At the invitation of the Artistic Direction, filmmaker Cláudia Varejão created a very particular and authorial set of images that served as the foundation for the visual communication of the 2014/2015 season of the National Ballet of Portugal (Companhia Nacional de Bailado – CNB).

Worked in pairs, with combinations that take on both an abstract interpretive character and juxtapose the human figure with particular graphic textures, the images are unequivocally the protagonists across all visual formats — from the promotion of individual shows to the Company's publications, from traditional advertising to digital communication.

To make the most of the organic quality created, the typographic choices and their arrangements sometimes emphasise, and sometimes challenge, the division resulting from the image combinations. Without fixed pre-defined dimensions, the titles of the works are themselves adaptable elements, subordinate to the visual binary created by the pairing of images. The result, beyond a versatile and flexible language adaptable to the variety of graphic formats used by the CNB, also takes on a markedly elegant and distinctive tone, entirely befitting the prestige of the institution.
